Mood as meaning

Mostly created during my early college years, this series represents a shift in my approach to photography—a transition from the total abstraction of my high school work but before the visual irony of Misreadings. There is a reintroduction of recognizable forms, but as a tool to create a surrealist atmosphere. Influenced by artist like Rinko Kawauchi and David Lynch, I became increasingly interested in how glowing, ethereal light creates mood, and how this mood gives meaning to images.
